“Let No One Despise Your Age”
Anna/Simeon were older adults who probably felt on the sidelines, that they had lost their voice and relevance. Yet they were given the gift of first awareness. They were the first to recognize what God was doing in the week-old Jesus. Awareness is a gift often reserved for the wisdom of later years. We should value the privilege of awareness that comes with age in our congregation.
