“For Such as These”
On the lowest rung on the totem pole and living out in the fields, the Shepherds must have felt like they were the last ones to hear of the birth of the Messiah. How surprised they must have been to realize they were the first. What does it say about our God, that he said, “I have to tell my shepherds first!”? Jesus has come for such as these.
